Jenna Dewan-Tatum views her dogs as children.

The actress married  Channing Tatum in 2009, but the couple isn't rushing to start a family.

The 31-year-old actress and her husband, 32, share two dogs, a pit bull Catahoula Cur mix named Lulu, and a Japanese Spitz named Meeka.

And they treat their four-legged friends just like their little tots.

"I consider my dogs real-life people stuck in a dog's body. They are my kids," Jenna told People.

The actress says she couldn't possibly love her dogs any more.

And when the couple is ready to settle down and have human babies she'll at least be well-prepared.

"I always joke around, 'If I can love my actual kids as much as my dogs, we're golden,' " she mused.

"My dogs are everything to me. I love them so much."
