(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jennifer Hudson's family murderer has been sentenced to three consecutive life sentences.

William Balfour was found guilty back in May of killing the Oscar winner's mother Darnell Donaldson, brother Jason Hudson and seven-year-old nephew Julian King in 2008.

He was convicted of first degree murder, home invasion and residential burglary.

Jennifer and her family were present in the Chicago courtroom to hear the sentencing and Balfour proclaimed his innocence right until the very end.

The judge looked into Balfour's eyes and told him, "Your soul is as barren as dark space."

The 31-year-old apparently attacked in a jealous rage after his ex-girlfriend, Jennifer's sister Julia, had received a gift from her new boyfriend.

Balfour shot Darnell and Jason who were found dead in the family home with Julian being found deceased in an SUV three days later. (C) Cover Media
