Jessica Alba: I didn't go crazy to lose baby weight

22nd November 2011

Jessica Alba has opened up about her weight loss journey after giving birth to her second child.

The 30-year-old actress welcomed daughter Haven to her family back in August, who joined big sister Honor, three.

But the Hollywood starlet said although she lost her pregnancy pounds quickly, it was not because she was working out like crazy.

"I didn't gain as much weight with my second pregnancy, so I think that really made a big difference," Jessica told Us Weekly.

"I did prenatal yoga up until the very end. I just made healthier choices. I started working out and not going too crazy, but I did what was safe and what the doctor approved."

Just two weeks after having Haven, Jessica was doing 40 minutes of cardio on a stationary bike and the elliptical.

Now she has upped this to 90-minute workout sessions four days a week at a Los Angeles gym.

An insider told the publication that the Sin City actress "was on a mission to get her body back. She missed being a sex symbol."

Jessica revealed that she is a more laidback parent this time around as she has experience it all before with her older child.

"It's nice to enjoy having a newborn instead of being overwhelmed and wonder if everything is going to be okay," Jessica shared. "Now I'm like, Oh, she'll be fine!' They're so sweet together."

Jessica married documentary producer Cash Warren in 2008.
