Jessica Simpson admits that struggling to lose baby weight never really crossed her mind while she was pregnant.
The star gave birth to her and fianc Eric Johnson's daughter Maxwell Drew on May 1.
Jessica, who is now a spokesperson for Weight Watcher's diet programme, gained quite a lot of weight while carrying Maxwell Drew.
The first time mother didn't know how her pregnancy would impact her body.
"During pregnancy, I didn't really think about it," she told Katie Couric Tuesday on the US talk show's host new TV programme.
"I thought my doctors were telling me that it was just a lot of water and whenever my water broke my whole entire stomach would go down but that did not happen. All the weight did not come out with the baby."
Jessica revealed that she is now only about 10lbs from her pre-baby weight.
She is committed to reaching her goals.
"I had to stay focused on my diet. I want to be as healthy as I can because I'm a mom now," she explained.
"I set small goals for myself. I've lost weight every week, thank God, but I've worked really hard."
