Jessie J: Style isn't vital

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Jessie J thinks style shouldn't be noticed ahead of a person's talent.

The British songstress, who has risen to stardom with her debut Album Who You Are, is famed for her quirky wardrobe choices and outlandish style.

Despite having an eclectic fashion sense, the 23-year-old star says it saddens her to think that style is sometimes seen as more important than someone's talent.

Jessie cites American singer Katy Perry as an example.

"Katy Perry's super-duper talented and I think that the media sometimes talks about her outfits more than they should," she revealed in an interview with the August edition of Glamour magazine.

Jessie chooses her outfits based on how they make her feel, and not to make a style statement. The raven-haired singer would hate to think that the way she dresses attracts more attention than her vocals while on stage.

"For gigs, I'll put on a leotard and tights because I like to move around on stage and I'm not a dress sort of person. And it'll be in the papers, Jessie J wears this provocative thing.' Style is important as long as it's personal to you, but I don't know if I want it to override the music," she explained. (C) Cover Media
