(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jewel and her husband Ty Murray have welcomed son named Kase Townes Murray into the world.

The songstress gave birth to the little boy in Texas last night at 7pm, her and professional bull rider Ty's representative confirmed to People.

The tot weighed 7 lbs., 6 oz. and Jewel has expressed her joy to the publication.

"Ty and I are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world," gushed Jewel.

"We are overcome with happiness - it really is as great as everyone told us it would be - better even!"

Jewel and Ty wed in the Bahamas back in 2008 and Kase is their first baby together.

The pregnancy had not been without drama for the star, who had struggled to conceive. Back in March she was hit by a fire truck, although fortunately hospital tests proved she and the unborn baby hadn't been harmed. (C) Cover Media
