Jill Scott slimmed for son

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Jill Scott's son inspired her to lose over 60lbs.

Within the past two years the magnificent singer-and-actress has shed significant weight from her frame. For Jill, vanity was never a motivating factor for getting fit. Her two-year-old son, Jett, inspired her to hit the gym.

"I'm in love with this little person. [Jett] is the best gift I could ever get," Jill told Us Weekly. "There's a world of discovery in his eyes, and I want to be around to enjoy it!"

Her new fitness regimen is a fusion of dieting and hardcore exercise. Jill kickboxes, has biking sessions with her personal trainer and eats three low-fat meals a day. This systematic approach to wellness is vastly different from her previous lifestyle.

"[Before the new regimen] I'd walk up nine steps and be out of breath!" Jill confessed.

Jill's most recent album The Light of the Sun is in stores this month. She will begin short US city concert tour at the end of July. (C) Cover Media
