(Cover) - EN Movies - J.J. Abrams is in no rush to make a sequel to the Star Trek reboot.

The director's 2009 sci-fi blockbuster, which focuses on the maiden voyage of Captain Kirk and the crew of the USS Enterprise, was a box office smash. The film was also a huge hit with both fans of the Star Trek series and a mainstream audience.

"We're working really hard to get that movie made as soon as possible, but we don't want to rush anything," he told Collider. "The worst thing we could possibly do would be to put something into production to make a release date instead of a great movie."

Fans of Star Trek are also in for a treat with Abrams' new film, the forthcoming monster movie Super 8. It features a cameo from a Star Trek icon.

"Leonard Nimoy is in the movie somewhere if you can find him," J.J teased.Leonard played Spock in the both the original Star Trek series and in the reboot. (C) Cover Media
