(Cover) - EN Movies - Emily Mortimer's character in Cars 2 kept developing thanks to her immense talent, says director John Lasseter.
The 39-year-old British actress provides the voice of Holley Shiftwell in the animated adventure, which is the sequel to 2006 hit Cars and also features the vocal talents of stars such as Owen Wilson and Michael Caine as Lightning McQueen and Finn McMissile respectively.
John was so impressed by Emily's voiceover talent that he developed her role a great deal, and has taken the opportunity to praise her abilities.
"Her character just kept growing because of how good she is and how cute," he explained.
Emily says the movie allowed her to fantasise about being a "glamorous little number", as she considers herself to be "physically awkward" in reality.
Cars 2 tells the tale of a racing star who pals up with his friend for an adventure racing against some of the fastest cars in the globe. The star told USA Today that she considers herself a bad driver, adding husband Alessandro Nivola isn't keen for her to splash out on a car.
"I tend to crash them and not drive very well," she blushed. "My husband is adamant that we not get one." (C) Cover Media
