(Cover) - EN Showbiz - John Travolta says that Robin Gibb was a "wonderful" person.
The Bee Gees star lost his battle with cancer yesterday at the age of 62 and has received an outpouring of love from celebrities and fans who appreciate the impact he had on the music industry.
Robin and his brothers Barry and Maurice recorded the soundtrack for the 1977 disco movie Saturday Night Fever that put John on the showbiz map.
"I thought Robin was one of the most wonderful people," the actor told TMZ.
"[He was] gifted, generous, and a real friend to everyone he knew. And we'll miss him."
The music of the Bee Gees influenced many of today's stars including Carrie Underwood who grew up listening to him as a child.
"My parents listened to the Bee Gees quite a bit when I was little," she told MTV. "They just had a sound that was all their own."
"There have been a lot of legends lost this year, so it's always sad to see it happen."
Robin Thicke added that his "family has been friends with the Gibbs for many years, so it's obviously a tragedy." (C) Cover Media
