(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Johnny Depp says that he would walk away from Hollywood if he could play King Lear or Don Quixote.

The talented actor has enjoyed a successful movie career which spans almost three decades. The 47-year-old has appeared in films ranging from Pirates of the Caribbean and Edward Scissorhands to Public Enemies and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Johnny has revealed his dream role would be playing King Lear by British playwright William Shakespeare or taking on the role of Don Quixote the most influential work of literature from the Spanish Golden Age.

I'm going to have to play (King) Lear or (Don) Quixote or something. It would have to be something like that. And then just walk away, he told FOX411s Pop Tarts.

The actor has appeared in many Hollywood blockbusters but has admitted he has aspirations to do more films connected to his passion for literature. He would love to breathe life into books that he has read and enjoyed over the years.

But there's still some stuff that I'd like to do out there. There's certain books that I've been in love with for years that I'd love to bring to life things like Tom Robbins Fierce Invalids Home from Hot Climates, that's a great, great book. (C) Cover Media
