Johnny Depp tried to save Paradis love

20th June 2012

Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis apparently put in a valiant effort in their bid to save their 14-year relationship.

The pair announced yesterday that their long-term romance had come to an end and said the split was "amicable."

But People magazine reports that they did not take their separation lightly especially with their two children in mind; Lily-Rose, 13, and Jack, nine.

"They've tried for months to save the relationship," an insider told the publication. "But have known for weeks that it couldn't be saved."

Vanessa arrived back to her native France last week to promote her new movie "Je Me Suis Fait Tout Petit".

And the insider said that the announcement of the split was intentionally coincided with the 39-year-old's trip home.

"It was all decided before she got on that plane," the source shared.

Johnny, 49, and Vanessa have apparently been living separate lives for several months and have not been seen publicly together in a while. He was reportedly seen cosying up to his Rum Diary co-star Amber Heard in Vegas last month.
