Jon Cryer: Hollywood star is super cool

19th September 2011

(Cover) - -No story type selected- - Jon Cryer is thrilled to be getting a "super cool" star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame especially as it's in front of Hooters.

The actor was amazed when he was informed he would be getting a star on the iconic Los Angeles landmark. It's something he's admired since he was a little boy and so it means a great deal to him.

Jon was allowed to pick a time to receive the accolade, so decided to would be a good idea to have it coincide with the premiere of the latest season of Two and a Half Men. He will receive his star today.

"When I was a kid, my dad was an actor, and for a while he came to Los Angeles to do film and TV roles. I would go to visit him occasionally. I was probably about eight or nine, and I recall thinking the stars were super cool, but really not even thinking in my wildest dreams that there would ever be a day that I would be among them," he explained to Variety.

"As a kid, I loved all the dumb things about Hollywood. I loved all the dumb tourist stuff, the Universal Studios tour and the hands and feet at Grauman's. And I've never gotten over it and now to be a part of it and to have the honour of being in the Walk of Fame, it's incredible. And not only that, but I'm in front of the Hooters. I can't imagine things getting any better!"

Two and a Half Men creator Chuck Lorre is likely to be present at the ceremony. There have been rumours Charlie Sheen may turn up too, but Jon thinks they're untrue.

Charlie was famously fired from the programme earlier this year after getting into a war of words with Chuck.

Although Jon doesn't think he'll come, he's joked the lure of restaurant Hooters famed for its scantily clad waitresses might be too much for Charlie.

"That is not true [that Charlie is coming]. It would be fun, wouldn't it? That would be awesome, but sadly, no, I've not been texted at all," Jon admitted.

"Maybe he'll show up in dolphin shorts, like the Hooters girls wear. Maybe he'll just happen to be having some wings at Hooters."

The news series of Two and a Half Men airs in the US tonight. (C) Cover Media
