Justin Bieber: I won't sing about sex

10th January 2012

Justin Bieber has no plans to start singing about "sex, drugs and swearing" anytime soon.

The clean-cut singer is happy with his image, even though he knows it might alter as he gets older. His interests are naturally changing now he is nearly 18 but he hopes to remain a good role model.

"People need to know I'm not a kid anymore, [but I don't feel] completely grown-up. I'm still learning," he told V magazine.

"I'm not going to try to conform to what people want me to be or go out there and start partying, have people see me with alcohol. I want to do it at my own pace. I don't want to start singing about things like sex, drugs and swearing. I'm into love, and maybe I'll get more into making love when I'm older. But I want to be someone who is respected by everybody."

Justin is currently dating Selena Gomez, who he's been with for around a year.

The star also discussed his future career plans. He's happy with the way things are going but knows there is room for improvement.

"I want to be successful and be great at what I do. But eventually, I want to become the best at what I do," he enthused. "I want to be better than anybody who's ever done it. And in order to do that, I need to strive to be the best, be good to people and treat people with respect, and work as hard as I can. Because for me, I work so hard and this consumes my life - it's not worth it if I'm not the best."

Justin has spoken about how difficult being in the limelight is in the past. In the new interview he revealed he doesn't expect all music fans to like him, although he'd hope they would give him a chance.

"A lot of people say they hate Justin Bieber who haven't even listened to my music. They just hate the idea of me," he said.
