Justin Bieber to receive philanthropy award

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Justin Bieber is to be honoured for his charity work.

The16-year-old singer is one of several young stars chosen to receive Variety's Power of Youth Philanthropy Award. The prize is given to stars who have made a special effort to help good causes.

The Canadian star will be honoured in a ceremony held at Paramount Studios on October 24. Rapper Bow Wow, actor David Henrie, singer-and-actress Victoria Justice and actress Shailene Woodley will also receive prizes.

Variety's Power of Youth continues to flourish, thanks to the amazing support of the entertainment community and our generous sponsors. Now in its fourth year, the event has raised over $1 million in charitable contributions, benefiting the several charities the effort has supported since its inception, said Variety publisher Brian Gott. With the help of more than 200 young artists who are in a position to influence their peers and fans, we are able to raise real money to support real causes where there is real need.
