These days Bollywood films make headlines for their overseas’ box office collection, but filmmaker Abhishek Kapoor's upcoming film 'Kai Po Che' has made it to the international circuit even before its release.
The film which is a screen adaptation of Indian author Chetan Bhagat's bestselling novel 'The 3 Mistakes of my Life', is slated to release on February 22, 2013. And much to the delight of the team, the film has been chosen to be screened at the coveted Berlin International Film Festival's 63rd edition.
The highly famous international film fest starts on February 7 and will be carried out for the following 10 days. And it will be during this fest that the yet to be released Indian film will be screened in Berlin. This is considered to be a grand premiere, as the film will not be screened anywhere else before this.
Abhishek, who shot to fame for his direction in 'Rock On!!', revealed the news with great excitement on his microblogging page, "Kai Po Che! selected to premiere at the Berlin International Film Festival. Yeah baby,” he wrote.
This was followed by Chetan, who too congratulated the team for their thumping success. "Proud moment for Abhishek Kapoor and team Kai Po Che!, more than anything, proud moment for India. Wow Abhishek! Salute," posted Chetan on his social networking page.
Starring Sushant Singh Rajput, Amit Sadh and Raj Kumar Yadav in the lead roles, the film is set in the backdrop of Ahmedabad where they strive hard to earn money, love and friendship.
