It is a rough road ahead for filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh who is unable to find a leading lady for his next film. 

The filmmaker who rose to fame with the success of 'Kahaani' was all set to take his next film on floors.

Sujoy had yet again approached his 'Kahaani' protagonist Vidya Balan to play the lead in his next directorial film, but the actress opted out to due to lack of dates.

Post this he approached Kangana Ranaut for the same film. The deal was almost final with Kangana as the actress had publicly confessed that she loved the script and was looking forward to do the film. But yet again, the film has hit a roadblock as Kangana too has opted out of the film. 

She is pre-occupied with the sequel to 'Tanu Weds Manu' and a script writing course in New York that she will resume in coming days. 

Given these personal and professional commitments, Kangana too opted out of the film and this has brought Sujoy back to square one. He is yet again on a lookout for a strong leading lady and is keen to finalize the cast as soon as possible. 

According to the grapevine, Kareena Kapoor Khan is one of the leading contenders to bag this vacant spot. 

It remains to be seen who eventually bags the film.
