12th December 2014

2012 brawl case involving Saif Ali Khan has entered a new twist. It is learnt that the Kapoor sisters- Karisma Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan have refused to record their statement against Saif.

The actor, who got into a scuffle with a South African businessman, Iqbal Mir Sharma at a South Mumbai's hotel, was charged for his indecent behavior. A chargesheet was prepared against the actor and his friends involved in it.

Krishna Prakash, who is in charge of this case said, "The statements of Kareena Kapoor and her sister Karishma were not recorded in connection with the Saif brawl case. We tried to persuade the duo, who was present at the spot, but they were not forthcoming about recording their statements over the incident."

"I have learnt the two (Kareena and Karishma) were not keen to depose (before the police). The two were not prime witnesses and hence their statements might not have been recorded."

Noted lawyer Abha Singh said, "Police have the right to summon witnesses if they are not ready to come forward. In fact, the Kapoor sisters were part of the group that indulged in fighting with the victim and hence they should also have been charged in the case."

Kareena, Karisma, Malaika Arora Khan, Amrita Arora, Bilal Amrohi and Shakeel Ladak were present along with the actor in the hotel.

As per the cops, the actor had punched Sharma and his father-in-law, post an argument at the hotel.
