Recently a Twitter user asked him about his gender and his reply is epic. The twitter user asked, "@karanjohar Are you a gay? I'm ready to lay if you launch me" to which Karan replied, "Listen Sherlock!!! First solve the mystery of your existence??? The prize will be to LAUNCH a missile up your arse!!!"
A book or a biopic as we call it titled 'An Unsuitable Boy' is released which throws light on Karan's personal as well as professional life. Some excerpts from the book are doing the rounds of the internet and has landed Karan into trouble. An Excerpt reads, "Everybody knows what my sexual orientation is. I don't need to scream it out. If I need to spell it out, I won't only because I live in a country where I could possibly be jailed for saying this. Which is why I Karan Johar will not say the three words that possibly everybody knows about me."
This has hurt the sentiments of LGBTQ community who says that if a person like Karan Johar is scared about the issue how can you expect a common man to talk about it. Pallav Patankar, LGBTQ community activist says, "If an uneducated person in a remote Indian village comes and tells me that they are scared of coming out, I'd take it, but this coming from somebody with a stature as big as Karan's, I feel let down. He should be coming out as an empowered and powerful individual, and actually make a difference for those helpless people living in villages. People who were earlier considering coming out will now sit and think twice, worried that an FIR might be involved — but this is baseless. You won’t be arrested for coming out."
He adds, "We have taken enough pangas for the community. Even if he ends up landing in jail, we will come out in support, go to jail along with him and stand by him, even if he doesn't want to come out and support the community."
