A person with a knife trespassed into the house of Karan at Koyambedu in Chennai, threatened his father, and escaped with a four sovereign gold chain. Based on a complaint, the police had started a hunt for the culprit.

Sources say Karan's father Kesavan was alone at the house on South Mada Street when a man knocked on the door and forcibly entered. The trespasser with a knife in his hand threatened Kesavan and escaped with the gold chain.

'The senior citizen had no other option than to part away with the gold chain he was wearing. After receiving the jewel, the thief left the place in no time. Immediately Kesavan alerted the police who rushed to the spot and conducted investigations,' they add.

Karan was out of home for shooting at the time of the robbery, it is said. 'He was initially shocked when he came to know about the robbery but was later relieved to know that his father was safe and unhurt,' sources further say.
