Highly acclaimed film-maker Karan Johar’s recently released film 'Student of the Year', starring new-comers Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Siddharth Malhotra in the lead roles have stunned everyone.
The film that hit the screens last week has set the cash registers ringing. Despite not having big stars, the film that comprises of only new-comers as its main cast has collected about 28.43 crore in its first weekend itself.
The film cashed 8.98 crore on Friday, 9.36 crore on Saturday and 10.09 crore on Sunday. Its gradual growth shows that the movie has been well received by the audiences.
Though the reviews were not very encouraging, the public response towards the film has been good.
While Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal starrer 'OMG – Oh My God' is doing well, it has touched 100 crore in its collection, making it a super hit.
With the festive season going on in full swing, the films are expected to continue doing good business for some more time.
