Katherine Heigl: My husband can be self-absorbed

6th October 2010

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Katherine Heigl says her husband can be very self-absorbed, but she still cant imagine being without him.

The actress married musician Josh Kelley in 2007, and last year they adopted a baby girl called Naleigh from South Korea. Katherine admits she was initially concerned about how Josh would adapt to being a father, but he amazed her with how easily he dealt with the change.

He's a great dad. I didn't expect it. He's such a guy. I adore him, I can't imagine being with another man, but he can be very self-absorbed, she told the November issue of Redbook. Not in an egomaniacal way, just kind of in his own head and unfocused on anything other than his own stuff. So I was really surprised by how on top of it and how connected he is.

Katherines parents adopted her older sister Meg from South Korea, which is part of the reason she decided to give Naleigh a home. The couple are currently discussing when the best time will be to expand their brood further, and think they may adopt another child in the near future.

We still talk about having biological children as well. I'm not ruling anything out, she clarified. Adoption has been a part of my life and a part of my family, so it was how I wanted to start.

Katherine and Josh were allowed to bring Naleigh home just before the 31-year-old actress began shooting her new movie Life as We Know It. She admits juggling work and home at that time was tough, particularly as she hates not giving things her fill attention.

If I spread myself too thin I'm not a good actor, she said. I'm not a good mother, and I'm just really high-strung - and everybody hates me. (C) Cover Media
