Kellan Lutz "loves everything about" The Hunger Games.

The hunky Twilight actor's passion for fantasy franchises extends beyond his own films.

Recent blockbuster The Hunger Games based off author Suzanne Collins' novel series tickles Kellan's fancy.

The actor is in awe at the excellent quality of the books and film.

"I love the script, I love the movie, everything about it!" Kellan gushed to E! Online.

"[I've] always been [a fan]. I got hooked reading all those books. I remember before they ever started making a movie, I was like, I would love to be a part of this!' "

Comparisons have been made by critics between Twilight and The Hunger Games, but Kellan thinks they're distinctly different.

"I feel like Twilight's kind of more girly and on the romance side and lacks the action and then Hunger Games is very much an action-packed movie that lacks some of the romance," the star explained.

"But those stories, it shows that you don't have to stick to one certain formula. If you have these keys ingredients in the cauldron it will make a great movie. It's great that there's fans for both of them."

Kellan hopes that he will somehow be a part of The Hunger Games movie sequel Catching Fire.

"That'd be really special," he gushed.
