The 28-year-old R&B singer has seen her fame rise with the release of her controversial second studio album, No Boys Allowed. The songstress has revealed that she wanted to create an empowering video for women to accompany her most recent single, Pretty Girl Rock, from the album.

In the video, I portray various powerful women in different era throughout history, such as Josephine Baker and Doris Day. Im having so much fun paying homage to groundbreaking and fearless women who are figures of power to so many other women, she told Hip Hop Weekly. I want everyone to listen to this song and feel beautiful from within, to feel empowered and to be confident and bold no matter what!

The talented songwriter who has penned tracks for the likes of Usher, the Pussycat Dolls, and Britney Spears says that she uses her lyrics to create a vessel for men to understand women. Keri has revealed that her album is personal to her own experiences and draws from them as inspiration.

No Boys Allowed is a deeply personal project designed to bring women to their feet, she explained. I write from a female perspective, but Im also telling men what women are really thinking and feeling about them. (C) Cover Media
