(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Kris Humphries' family were "concerned" about his marriage with Kim from the outset.

Kim filed for divorce from professional basketball player Kris Humphries after 72 days of marriage on Halloween.

Kris' kin were wary about the affair before their August wedding.

"We expressed concern to him about his relationship with Kim," a family member told RadarOnline.

"We were quite surprised that it was as serious as it was with them. But he was just taken away by her, and you can't tell someone in love to open their eyes a little wider. He just saw what he wanted to see."

According to the insider Kris was in love with Kim, but found certain elements of their joint family life to be exceptionally difficult.

"It was really hard on Kris that Kim and her family weren't very accepting to his side of the family, or very welcoming to them," the source added.

In response to Kim's request for divorce, Kris filed for an annulment in November, citing their wedding was a possible fraudulent publicity ploy for one of Kim's reality programmes.

Kris was apparently deeply in love with Kim and did not see their separation coming.

"Kris was very much blind-sided when Kim filed for divorce," the insider said. (C) Cover Media
