(Cover) - EN Star Style - Lady Gagas stylist wants people to consider her silhouette to be as powerful as her.

The eccentric singer is renowned for wearing outlandish outfits, such as the dress made entirely of meat she donned for the MTV Video Music Awards last year. However at the Grammy Awards earlier this month she outdid anything shes tried before by making her way down the red carpet inside a giant egg-shaped vessel, which was carried by her entourage. She then hatched on stage, before launching into a storming rendition of her new song Born This Way.

Lady Gagas stylist Nicola Formichetti - the mastermind behind the pop stars groundbreaking outfits - said that a lot of thought and creativity went into the process. The stars custom-made Mugler attire was designed to be seen from the outside, giving a powerful image. Clay was also used to mould her feet into high heels and give her shoulder-pads and high cheekbones, creating a phenomenal silhouette.

It was to make her look alien-like as if she was born into a new race in high fashion. The idea was that seeing her silhouette was just as powerful as seeing her, Nicola told Grazia magazine.

The egg ensemble took two months to design. Gaga and Nicola worked alongside designer Hussein Chalayan to create the perfect embryo.

We spent two months working with Hussein Chalayan on different fibres to get the perfect shape and colour. We wanted it to look almost embryonic but not transparent, Nicola added. (C) Cover Media
