The flamboyant singer is currently thought to be single although she has been linked to on/off boyfriend Luc Carl several times this year. Gaga is open about her sexuality, and regularly publicly extols the importance of safe sex.

She's now discussed how vital relationships are when it comes to the song writing process, insisting all musicians are influenced by those they love.

"That's the case with all musicians! I think, there's no song in this world that's not somehow about sex. I mean, that's what keeps the world going, right?" she told the German edition of In Touch magazine.

Gaga loves being in a relationship and has discussed what makes her perfect man. She isn't interest in looks, explaining it's more important that the person she's with has something interesting to say.

She also likes her partners to be kind and treat her with respect, insisting that is vital for a successful romance.

"How a guy looks is not important to me. Every person is beautiful in his or her own way. But I do appreciate when guys are nice and generous and have a certain genius," she explained. (C) Cover Media
