(Cover) - EN Movies - Laurence Fishburne has been announced as Perry White in Man of Steel.

Movie fans are eagerly awaiting the release of the action picture, which will be a reboot of the Superman film franchise and is due to hit cinemas in 2013.

Directed by Zack Snyder, the movie will feature Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman and Amy Adams as Lois Lane.

It has now been announced that 50-year-old US actor Laurence, best known for playing Morpheus in the Matrix sci-fi trilogy, will portray Daily Planet editor Perry in the picture.

Perry first appeared in the original 1940s Superman comics as a tough-yet-kind boss, and film insiders believe Laurence is ideal for the part.

According to Variety studio Warner Bros. have no comment, although Laurence's representative has confirmed the casting.

Man of Steel will be filming in Chicago and Vancouver this summer. Other names in the star-studded cast include Kevin Costner and Michael Shannon as Jonathan Kent and General Zod respectively. (C) Cover Media
