(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leighton Meester has spoken out against the way women in Hollywood are pitted against each other.

The 24-year-old actress is best known for playing Blair Waldorf in hit US television series Gossip Girl, which she stars in alongside Taylor Momsen, Blake Lively and Jessica Szohr.

Leighton gets tired hearing about rumours of a feud between her and Blake, insisting there is no animosity on set. The talented actress has compared the constant rumours of a rift to the suggestions the stars of defunct show Sex and the City Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - didnt get along.

"It's unfortunate when women are pitted against each other. Like with Sex and the City, people say, 'They're jealous of each other,'" the actress observed in an interview with the January edition of Allure.

"Come on! They're all rich, successful, great actresses."

Leighton also discussed her lifestyle choice, revealing she isnt interested in wild showbiz parties. For Leighton, looking after her body comes first, and while she does enjoy celebrating with pals, she would never take things too far.

"When I first moved to New York [for Gossip Girl], we would go out all the time," she confessed. "I've never gotten too crazy, but I definitely got to have experiences.

"Now, I don't want to do anything that's unhealthy for me. I mean, drinking is one thing - overdrinking is another. And drugs are something I don't tolerate at all." (C) Cover Media
