Leonardo DiCaprio raised $1.3million for charity while celebrating his 37th birthday.
The actor held a party with Danny A. Abekaser at New York City nightclub Avenue on Friday evening.
The New York Post reports that the event was attended by mega stars including Robert De Niro, Chace Crawford, Ed Norton, Bradley Cooper, Naomi Campbell, Kevin Connolly, Benicio Del Toro and billionaires Stewart Rahr and Len Blavatnik.
Leonardo raised the money for his charity The Leonardo DiCaprio Foundation. The organisation helps support wildlife-protection projects and aids disaster relief areas.
The star raised the money by holding an auction.
One of the star attractions was a five-litre bottle of Veuve Clicquot painted for the 11/11/11-themed bash by artist Peter Tunney, which went for $50,000.
Additional funds were raised by adding a fee to all drinks bought.
Mark Ronson, Q-Tip and Jus Ske provided the music for the evening, while Miike Snow performed his hit song Animal
Leonardo is enjoying plenty of Oscar buzz for his portrayal of J.Edgar Hoover in Clint Eastwood's film J.Edgar and he is currently shooting The Great Gatsby with Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.
