Leonardo DiCaprio in tender movie kiss

1st March 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Leonardo DiCaprios kiss with his male co-star will be tender, says the scriptwriter for the movie.

The Hollywood hunk is playing former FBI director J. Edgar Hoover in new biopic J. Edgar. The film will focus on Hoovers tumultuous career and rumoured private life as a homosexual and cross dresser.

In one scene DiCaprio will lock lips with Armie Hammer, who portrays Hoovers assistant Clyde Tolson, and even though the kiss is highly-anticipated writer Dustin Lance Black insists it will be treated sensitively.

However, Black who previously worked on the script for Milk starring Sean Penn has revealed the actors will be expected to inject some passion into the scene and has promised cinemagoers they wont be disappointed.

"Yes, certainly there's a relationship between these two guys. And it wouldn't be a Dustin Lance Black script if it didn't have a little gay kissing in it. So the answer is yes, he replied to E! Online when asked about the reported kiss between DiCaprio and Hammer. "Those who want to see that will be pleased. I think it's done in a very tender way, surprisingly."

Hammer recently spoke out about the kissing scene, saying he was looking forward to canoodling with DiCaprio and telling him to pucker up.

It has been rumoured DiCaprio will wear womens clothing for some scenes in the film, but Black is refusing to comment on the cross-dressing claims. He doesnt want to spoil all the plotlines for the movie, and wants audiences to be surprised when they watch the film.

"I gotta leave something for you to buy a ticket for, he joked.

J. Edgar is due to be released in cinemas worldwide from 2012 and will also star Naomi Watts, Dame Judi Dench, Ed Westwick and Josh Lucas. (C) Cover Media
