Madonna: I don't condone drugs

27th March 2012

Madonna has insisted she has "never" condoned drug use.

The singer has hit back at claims she used a slang term for the drug ecstasy during a recent concert.

Musician DJ Deadmau5 - real name Joel Zimmerman - accused the Material Girl of making the reference to "molly", using a Twitter Q&A Madonna was hosting to voice his concern.

Madonna came out blazing, saying her words were taken out of context. She responded to the tweet by posting a photograph of herself in mouse ears, along with the words: "From one mouse to another I don't support drug use and I never have. I was referring to the song called Have You Seen Molly written by my friend Cedric Gervais who I almost worked with on my album."

Deadmau5 then continued to condemn the singer saying she should watch her words in future. However the DJ confessed he may have been a bit quick to judge following her tweet.

"@MadonnaMDNAday fair enough, i was just voicing my concerns as i usually do. +1 respect for clearing it up personally (sic)," he said.

Madonna insisted he should have taken up his concerns with her personally rather than voicing them publicly.

"@deadmau5 Communication is always best. You should have called me first, we could have cleared it up "privately." ;) See you on the road (sic)," before he responded, "@MadonnaMDNAday sure. regardless, just be a little more aware of what you *should* represent at EDM events, and ill watch my mouth (sic)."

Madonna ended the feud, saying she promised she would be more mindful of watch she says. She wrote "broken pinky swear" alongside a photo of her finger.

Madonna's Q&A yesterday was in promotion of her new album MDNA and attracted more than 38,000 followers on the Twitter. Celebrities including Katy Perry, Perez Hilton and Justin Bieber were among the many posting comments and questions to Madonna's account.

Ellen DeGeneres was another fan who congratulated the star on her new album.

"@madonnamdnaday I don't know how you keep doing it, but you keep doing it! This album is amazing!," to which Madonna responded, "@TheEllenShow I have strong role models like you to look up to. :) (sic)."

Meanwhile, another online story involving the singer has been making waves after a video of Madonna kissing Nicki Minaj went viral. She is seen kissing Nicki on her 29th birthday which she celebrated after they worked together on the music promo for their song Give Me All of Your Lovin'. Madonna is no stranger to kissing women. She famously locked lips with Britney Spears and Christina Aguilera MTV Awards in 2003.
