Matt Bomer: Manscaping wasn't fun

13th June 2012

Matt Bomer had to get in the best shape of his life to portray a stripper in upcoming movie Magic Mike.

But the White Collar actor says that there was one part of his preparation that he wasn't too fond of.

Speaking to People magazine, Matt recalled having to "manscape" his nether regions for the movie, which also co-stars Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey.

"We all had to go there," Matt told the publication. "I'm not going to say it was fun, and personally I will never do it again, but for that project it was necessary. We were all in the boat together."

"What was important to me was to tell the story authentically, and I wanted to reflect what the dancers in real life do. And that's part of their job.

"It was us against the world. But in a lot of ways, that was the mentality of a lot of exotic dancers I talked to.

"It's a profession that's not widely accepted by the general populace, so even though they raz each other and it is a sort of locker room environment, they help each other out and look out for each other, and I feel like that's something we picked up on."
