Matt LeBlanc: I'm a normal guy

16th June 2012

Matt LeBlanc feels "just like everybody else".

The 44-year-old actor has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that he fell into show business serendipitously.

Before landing a huge role as character Joey Tribbiani in legendary TV series Friends, Matt wasn't at all interested in acting.

He met an actress on the street who eventually made an introduction to a manager that would change his life.

"I turned to look at her ass and she turned to look at my ass and immediately at the same time we started laughing," he told the magazine. "I'd be banging nails in the snow if it wasn't for her. I'd have been a carpenter."

Matt currently plays himself on comedy series Episodes.

"If you were to ask me, Do I think my life is worthy of a character on a TV show?' I would say no," he laughed. "Pretty normal guy. I burp. I fart. I have hair coming out of my ears now. Just like everybody else."

Matt loved the time he spent as part of the Friends ensemble alongside co-stars Jennifer Aniston and Courteney Cox.

"It was the best gig in town," he gushed. "And the beer was free down there. On Friday night after the show, you didn't have to go to the bar and pay for beer!"
