(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Matt Damon is glad he didnt have to learn ballet for his new movie, as it gave him the opportunity to eat junk and laugh while co-star Emily Blunt trained.
The two stars appear alongside each other in The Adjustment Bureau, where Matts politician character David Norris falls in love with ballet dancer Elise Sellas, portrayed by Emily.
While Emily had to spend hours studiously learning the art of dance, Matt didnt have much preparation to do at all.
This was a case where Emily Blunt really had all the work to do because she was playing a dancer, and so she had these rigorous workouts and dance instruction and all this stuff that she had to do, whereas I was just kind of eating Cheetos by the craft service table, kind of laughing the whole time, he laughed.
Emily has spoken at length about the gruelling schedule she kept to in order to look like a true dancer, explaining she became so toned by the end of shooting her back looked like a bag of snakes.
Although she eventually managed to master all the moves required she was initially unsure whether it would be possible for her, as she was so unprepared when she started her dance lessons.
I was not graceful at the beginning at all, she admitted to ET. It's uber-embarrassing actually to learn how to dance in front of people who really can dance. I trained with this amazing contemporary ballet company who were extraordinary dancers, so I [showed] up the first day in tights and a leotard and I felt like the biggest dumb-dumb because they were all there in, like, baggy pants and cool T-shirts looking like the rebels of ballet.
