Megan Fox: Monroe tattoo was negative

23rd August 2011

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Megan Fox says she had her Marilyn Monroe tattoo removed because it caused "negative energy".

The Transformers actress, 25, was such a big fan of the blonde icon that she had her face inked onto her right arm.

But she has finally opened up about why she had the etching removed telling Italian magazine Amica that it was not bringing positive vibes into her life.

"It's a negative character as [Marilyn] suffered from personality disorders and was bipolar," she explained.

"I do not want to attract this kind of negative energy in my life."

The Hollywood star died in 1962 at the age of 36 but has influenced many starlets who aspire to have her same level of impact in the showbiz world.

Megan has approximately nine other tattoos including a quote on her shoulder that reads "We will all laugh at gilded butterflies" and a tribal mark on her left wrist.

The tattoo is not the only body art that the actress has had second thoughts about.

She got her belly button pierced when she was a teen which was inspired by a pop star.

"I did it when I was 16-years-old because I was a fan of Britney Spears," she shared. "The only time I tried to imitate someone else. But then I thought it was tacky so I removed it when I turned 20." (C) Cover Media
