(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel B says Los Angeles doesnt make her feel body conscious.

The 35-year-old British star moved to the American city with her daughter Phoenix in 2003 after splitting with her then boyfriend Max Beesley. Mel now resides there permanently with her producer husband Stephen Belafonte and her two children from previous relationships; Phoenix, 12, and three-year-old Angel.

The former Spice Girl - who is renowned for her enviably toned frame - has revealed that living in the city hasnt affected her confidence as she values her health above anything else.

There are lots of things I see and go Oh dear but thats them, not me. I love LA, Ive been there six years and love it, she told the Daily Express. Its a body conscious world but for me its not. We beat ourselves up so much, as long as youre eating healthily and working out you cant really complain.

Mel says that she only started to feel pressure to work out after giving birth to her second daughter just over three years ago. She says that she is aware that her weight is prone to fluctuating, so exercises to maintain her enviable physique.

I never worked out before, it was only after I had Angel three and half years ago, Mel explained. You notice your metabolism slows down a bit, you feel sluggish. But I like the way my body is, I can go from super ripped to curvy, to not-so-curvy, to more muscular. I fluctuate. (C) Cover Media
