(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mel Gibson was spotted being "very flirty" at a bar in Hollywood this week.

The 55-year-old actor has experienced a host of personal problems of late, after he was accused of being abusive and threatening towards his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva. However, the star appears to be getting his life back on track after appearing in new movie The Beaver alongside Jodie Foster. Mel, who is currently believed to be single, partied at the Mondrian's Skybar in West Hollywood on Wednesday with a group of gorgeous girls.

"Mel Gibson is back on the singles scene," reports New York Post. "He was tucked away in the VIP hut with the group celebrating the launch of Deborah Cloyed's book. Spies say he was very flirty."

Mel has been the subject of fierce criticism for some time now. In 2010, Oksana alleged Mel had assaulted her during a vicious argument. A number of recordings of the incident made by Oksana were leaked online, seemingly showing Mel using violent, racist and abusive language towards her.

Earlier this year, the star insisted he is a good person and he makes a great partner when he is in the right relationship.

"You have to put it all in the proper context of being in an irrationally, heated discussion at the height of a breakdown, trying to get out of a really unhealthy relationship," he explained. "It's one terribly, awful moment in time, said to one person, in the span of one day and doesn't represent what I truly believe or how I've treated people my entire life." (C) Cover Media
