Mel Gibson's ex Oksana Grigorieva desires for the actor to "get help."

The Lethal Weapon actor is currently feuding with screenwriter Joe Eszterhas, a screenwriter who provided audio tape to The Wrap where Mel is heard screaming "c**ksucker" on a tirade that was recorded last year.

Mel pleaded no contest to a misdemeanour battery charge in March 2011 stemming from an incident with Oksana where the Russian musician claimed he hit her. The star also came under a barrage of criticism at the time when audiotapes were released of conversations he had with Oksana that revealed him screaming abuse at her.

Oksana is dismayed at Mel's most recent diatribe.

"Oksana was stunned when she heard the new recordings, it was her worst fear because she has only wanted Mel to get help from a mental health professional," a source told Radar Online.

Mel was ordered to seek counseling following his battery charge and Oksana thinks the treatment was futile.

"She doesn't think the anger management classes worked and believes one of the reasons is because Mel was allowed to choose which psychiatrist he wanted to see and he was allowed to do that," the source explained.

"Oksana recognises that Mel has deep seeded issues that he doesn't appear to be dealing with. She only hopes he can someday find peace within himself."

The Russian pianist and Mel have two-year-old daughter Lucia together and have been embroiled in an ongoing custody battle over the child.
