Michael Barnes: Blonde hair is difficult

11th April 2011

(Cover) - EN Star Style - Michael Barnes has warned recreating Lady Gagas locks could be damaging to tresses.

Michael is one of the UKs most respected hairdressers and has worked on the hair of stars such as Keira Knightley and Lily Cole. The hair expert, who has his own salon in Londons Shaftesbury Avenue, thinks songstress Lady Gagas mane is amazing, although fears that ladies trying to recreate the bleach-blonde look could be risking the health of their hair.

Lady Gaga would be great, the type of work I do would suit her, he told Cover Media, when discussing celebrities he would like to style.

You dont see blonde shiny hair much. Blonde doesnt reflect light. Anything that lightens hair damages it - the sun, lemon.

Dont over process with bleach. If you have highlights your hair is never gonna shine as much.

Despite being wary of the dangers of dyed blonde tresses, Michael insists that with the right care they will still look good. He predicts the upcoming season will see plenty of edgy new takes on the colour.

Colours coming up right now are cool blondes and pale violets, Ive been told by fashion forecasters, he added. (C) Cover Media
