(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Douglas says his only romantic rule used to be not to have affairs with two women in the same city.

The Hollywood star is happily married to Catherine Zeta-Jones, with who he has two kids. He was previously wed to Diandra Luker, and admits he had fun while single once that union ended. Michael credits Catherine with completely changing the way he treats members of the opposite sex, admitting he is embarrassed when he thinks of some of the things hes done in the past.

Catherine was a wonder for me. I was quite a successful bachelor for some time before I met her. And that was really pleasant. I couldn't comprehend how easy everything is if you tell women the truth, he explained. My only rule was: Don't have affairs with two women... in the same city ... You thought Id say at the same time? Come on! I had just finished a long marriage. But when I met Catherine, I was thunderstruck."

Michael is currently battling stage four throat cancer, and has said his family have been instrumental in helping him cope with the ordeal. The 66-year-olds father is screen legend Kirk Douglas, and the pair have a close relationship.

Michael admits it was tough growing up with a father who was so revered, but insists it hasnt affected the way they are with each other.

Nobody thought I was capable of accomplishing something similar than he did. This man wrote film history, he told the German edition of Elle magazine. I would love to tell you an outrageous story about out father-son-conflicts, but we haven't had any serious problems. After his stroke he used to joke, 'Michael, if I had only knew that you would be so famous one day, I would have been so much nicer. (C) Cover Media
