The actor has decided to be a part of the Telethon 'Stand Up 2 Cancer' on September 10. With his recent pledge to join the telethon, Douglas joins the list of celebrities like Will Smith, Gwyneth Paltrow and George Clooney who announced their participation earlier this week. The telethon will be aired nationwide on September 10.
Douglas's representative said that the 'Wall Street' star will participate in the event from New York. Right now the actor is unable to travel because he is undergoing treatment for cancer. Douglas revealed his cancer diagnosis early August when doctors found a tumor in his throat.
Michael Douglas is scheduled to undergo eight weeks of intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments to cure the disease. On Tuesday, Douglas appeared on 'The Late Show with David Letterman', where he said that he is optimistic about his chances of recovery. According to the doctors, Douglas has 80% chances of making a full recovery, which might improve with time.
