(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Michael Jackson's Las Vegas estate will be open to fans for four hours today to commemorate the anniversary of his death.
The iconic pop star passed away from acute propofol intoxication on June 25 2009, and it has been announced that for the first time fans will be able to spend time in his former Las Vegas mansion.
A representative for the home has explained that the event will allow fans to gain a deeper understanding of the music genius, who had been preparing a comeback tour at the time of his sudden death.
"The estate will be opened to the public, for the first time, for only four hours for those who wish to pay their respects and to mourn his loss on this, the Second Anniversary of [MJ's] passing, June 25, 2011," the rep told TMZ.
"We will strive to give you a glimpse into his private life and home; to allow you to walk where he walked, to see what he saw, to breathe the same air that he breathed andto be inspired."
The rep added that all commemorative items sent for the star will remain in place at the site this weekend. Strict security measures are expected to be in place.
"Your messages of love, prayers, gifts and flowers will be lovingly preserved in situs until Sunday," said the rep.
The trial related to Michael's death is due to go ahead in September, after it was postponed earlier this year. Michael's former personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray has been accused of being involved with his death, which he denies.
He will stand trial for involuntary manslaughter on September 20, and a source has told TMZ that the doctor feels so strongly about his innocence that he would not consider a plea bargain.
"We're told Dr. Murray feels so strongly about his innocence, even a plea with no jail time would be out of the question," reports the site, adding that a plea bargain has reportedly not been offered anyway. (C) Cover Media
