(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Mila Kunis attributes her tough skin to her fathers firm parenting technique.

The 27-year-old actress was born to Ukrainian parents and moved to Los Angeles when she was a child, where she had to learn to adapt to a different way of life. The star thanks her father Mark Kunis for making sure she didnt become a spoiled child, and thinks he helped her develop a cynical and self-deprecating sense of humour.

My dad is very sarcastic and I was by all means his little girl growing up but my dad built a tough skin there was no getting off on your looks, she explained.

The actress has fond memories of her childhood, and still enjoys catching up with her loved-ones for a big family meal. Mila says a good sense of humour runs in her family, as she and older brother Michael are always goofing around.

If you go to our dinners its very loud and everyone is kind of clowning on one another. My mom and dad were both really great at building my brother and me up to make fun of ourselves and not take everything so seriously, Mila told the British edition of OK! magazine. (C) Cover Media
