(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Sam Worthington says stale relationships arent worth the heartbreak.

The Australian actor recently split from fashion stylist Natalie Marks, who he met at the offices of his management agency over three years ago. Sam has strong views on how relationships should work, and would turn his back on a romance if either person was becoming complacent.

"You work at it, and if you are bored at working at it, then get out of the relationship, he said in an interview with British newspaper The Independent. Also with complacency, if you have been heartbroken, shouldn't you work harder in your next relationship? I think that if it is getting stale then you should get out.

Sam doesnt understand why people think its essential to keep working at relationships, as hes never had to do so. He insists if a romance is right it should be easy and comfortable to be with the other person, and not something which causes undue stress.

I think you should be able to be on the other side of the world for eight months and the relationship should hold. I'm a romantic at heart," he said.

In movie Last Night, Sam plays lovelorn husband Michael Reed, whose wife Joanna is portrayed by Keira Knightley. The film shadows the couple as they both deal with feelings for other people while they are away from each other.

Sam enjoyed shooting the picture, explaining he found the way Michael treats Joanna fascinating.

"In Last Night, my character is complacent, he eats food and he watches sport while his beautiful wife is getting dressed, he doesn't even say that she is beautiful until at least four scenes into the movie, he explained. (C) Cover Media
