Recent reports suggest that the celebrated Indian film maker Mira Nair is likely to shoot her next film in Pakistan. Mira Nair is making a film on famous Pakistani novelist Mohsin Hamids second novel The Reluctant Fundamentalist and she wills hoot some of the key scenes for the movie in Pakistan.
Bollywood heartthrob Shahid Kapoor is going to star in the upcoming flick and he is expected to fly down to Pakistan for that purpose. Although Mira Nair has not officially signed up Shahid Kapoor for the project, according to the grapevine, Shahid is very excited after reading the script. Apparently Shahid is very excited about working with the highly commended US-based film maker. Mohsin shot to fame with his very first novel Moth Smoke in 2000. The Reluctant Fundamentalist was published in 2007 and became an instant hit.
Mira Nairs last film Amelia was released in 2009 and it dealt with the life and exploits of famous aviator Amelia Earhart who became the first woman to cross the Atlantic. Miras last film was well accepted at the 9th MIAAC Film festival. The director is likely to make an appearance at the MIAAC Film festival 2010 as well.
In fact the Amelia has been selected for the closing ceremony at the MIAAC Film festival 2010. The MIAAC Film festival tries to give a platform to the talented Indian film makers to showcase their projects to the international audience. The new generation of directors can learn a lot from veterans like Mira Nair who will come to the Film festival.
