Miranda Kerr: I left my body during labour

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Miranda Kerr thought she was going to die while in labour with her son.

The model and her husband Orlando Bloom welcomed Flynn into the world in January. Miranda's labour lasted 27 hours and was completely natural, as she'd always wanted. She has now opened up about the experience, admitting it was incredibly hard.

"I've never been through so much pain, but I was totally present the entire time, focusing on my breath and meditating. I kept thinking, how do women do this? But if other women have done this, I can do it, too. I was determined," she told Australian newspaper Herald Sun.

"I actually thought I was going to die at one point and left my body. I felt as if I was looking down on myself the pain was so intense. Then he came out and we met, and it was the best thing. I think once you go through something like that, nothing else fazes you it puts everything into perspective."

Orlando stayed with his wife throughout the labour, with Miranda previously admitting she wouldn't even let him out the room to use the toilet.

She is totally in love with Flynn and spent every hour of the day and night with him when he was first born. The tot even sleeps in the same bed as his mother and father, and Miranda has no intention of getting a nanny to help care for him.

She has also opened up about her son's name, which in full is Flynn Christopher Blanchard Copeland Bloom. Miranda's first boyfriend, Christopher Middlebrook, died in a car crash and she wanted to honour him.

"Chris and I had been dating for two years," she explained. "After he died, I wrote him a letter that said I hoped to name my first child after him in some way. I told Orlando and he was the one who said he'd be happy to do that. Orlando's a good guy." (C) Cover Media
