Rating: **1/2

Synopsis: Story of Johnny wanting to get rich and move to Dubai. For that he helps Parvez to rob Chiple of his ill-gotten money. Parvez also has a relationship Chiples wife, the trans-gender madam has his love interest, the drug dealer. All these characters along with the model/ actress Preeti being the interest of the owner of a TV network have some semblance I Johnnys life and he wishes one of them will help him to attain his dream.

Tera Kya Hoga Johnny is just not another heist movie that has hit the screens today (Dec' 17th), but being a Sudhir Mishar film who explores the psyches of the people while they are forced into extreme circumstances has been his signature. While showcasing the turmoil he has delved into the relationship of these characters along with the realities of the social changes. This time too in Tera Kya Hoga Johnny, Misha while narrating heist story takes you into the mind of the protagonist with whom you can empathize.

In spite of loads of other characters and other destructions caused by other plots and some not so worthy Hitchcock-an cameo by the director and one by Anurag Kashyap as a henchman one still roots for Johnny (Sikandar Agarwal), a migrant kid worker who makes his living by serving tea. Neil Nitin Mukesh as Parvez, Sohan Ali Khan as Preeti, Kay Kay Menon as the corrupt police Chiple only adds to the fragmented societal structure.

In a way once again Mishra does a great job in exposing the vagaries of the city Mumbai. But while each of these characters in the film is described by Johnny as he sees them, the element of the heist film is belittled a bit. Its not a gritty robbery movie but nonetheless Johnny and the narration of the film can keep the audience interested in the tale.
