Nanak Shah Fakir banned for two months after protest

A lot of effort is ongoing against the upcoming film, 'Nanak Shah Fakir' which portrays Guru Nanak's life and teaching. The outfit Dal Khalsa expresses disgust against chief minister, Parkash Singh Badal for not taking action against the film.

The outfit wrote a letter to the president, Pranab Mukherjee saying that the film has potential to outrage the Sikh masses which is releasing this Friday,17th April since, Guru Nanak has been portrayed in human form along with Guru's sister, Bebe Nanak and the same disregards Sikh tenets and belief system.

Also, the students of Guru Nanak Dev University broke a protest against the film and demanded a ban and finally, on Wednesday, the Punjab government declared ban of the film for two months.
