Natalie Portman: I strive for imperfect performances

(Cover) - EN Showbiz - Natalie Portman strives for imperfection when shes acting.

The 29-year-old actress is one of Hollywoods most talented leading ladies, and her performance as a prima ballerina in Darren Aronofskys film Black Swan has led movie insiders to suggest she may receive an Oscar nomination next year.

Natalie is thrilled people appreciate her acting, although she admits hearing her performance being described as perfect doesnt make sense to her, because as an actress she tries to attain imperfection. The talented star always pushes herself to give the best portrayal she possibly can.

I think most art is in search of those perfect moments: the beauty that exists for a fraction of a second. But me? I just wanna do the best I can. Im demanding of myself, she told Empire magazine.

But perfection in acting is very different. Its imperfection youre looking for, because youre portraying people who are far from perfect.

Natalie went on to reveal despite having a strong personality and being fearless in her movie career, she does have some phobias. The star always forces herself to accept film parts that she finds daunting though.

Fears? Im afraid of a lot, she explained.

But, work-wise, I try to do things that scare me, because I know theyre gonna challenge me...But the clich is true: the more you put in, the more you get out. (C) Cover Media
